ALA is another essential fatty acid that came from plant source like green leafy vegetables, nuts (walnuts and almonds), soy and tofu and vegetable oils (canola, corn oil, flaxseed and soybean).

They are called essential because they are needed in our body. A fatty acid is not just essential because our body needs it, but also our body can’t produce them that only supplements and foods can only provide.

What Are the Best Essential Fatty Acids?

DHA and EPA are much needed in our body than ALA because ALA isn’t as effective as DHA and EPA.

It is proven that essential fatty acids derived from fish are more effective than the plant source. Like, what was mentioned earlier, DHA and EPA are much required than ALA. Fish are said to be brain food because of the food it intakes. They are much helpful and beneficial.

ALA isn’t as effective as DHA and EPA when it comes to anti inflammation. The two fatty acids are best pain reliever for joint pains and arthritis.
